Cyber Security Month
Within the framework of the European Cyber Security Month (ECSM), the SYSKRON Security Team will again organise a virtual SYSKRON Security CTF contest from October 21 to October 25. The ECSM is an annual campaign of the European Union, which takes place every October and aims to sensitise EU citizens and organisations to the topics of computer and network security. Hundreds of activities to promote digital security and cyber-hygiene take place throughout Europe during the whole month, including the CTF contest organised by SYSKRON. Already last year, 600 international teams took part in the competition, in which problems relating to cyber security had to be solved in order to find so-called flags for which points were awarded.
from the real world
About 20 challenges are planned for this year, which the participants will have to solve on five consecutive days. What is new compared to last year is that this time there will be a continuous story for the competition: The participants of the CTF contest act as fictitious employees of an external security service provider who receives orders from a Czech machine-building company. "This year's tasks are therefore almost exclusively taken from real situations and thus relate to security problems in the real world," explains Benjamin Süß from the SYSKRON Security Team and main organiser of the CTF contest.
