A day with Susanne
Team Assistant at SYSKRON
Susanne has been working for SYSKRON GmbH for almost three years as team assistant and is available every day to 100 employees with advice and support. How she likes it, she tells in an interview.
Susanne, tell us a little bit about yourself. How old are you and where are you from?
I am 36 years old, was born in Nabburg and grew up in beautiful Wernberg-Köblitz at the bottom of Wernberg Castle. My studies led me to Regensburg in 2007, in the meantime I live with my partner in Thalmassing in the south of Regensburg.
What did you do before you joined SYSKRON?
First I did an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk in the automotive industry and then I worked in sales for two years. But since I had the general university entrance qualification, I decided to study business administration in 2007 and finished with a master's degree. My first path after my studies led me to Krones AG, where I was an assistant in plastics technology.
Why did you choose SYSKRON?
On the one hand because of the prospect of versatile and different fields of activity in a young and modern team, on the other hand because of the friendly management and a culture at eye level.
What are your tasks at SYSKRON?
At SYSKRON I am the team assistant of the GmbH and support about 100 employees per day. But also colleagues from the other areas of the Holding or the X GmbH can come to me with their concerns at any time. Basically I take care of everything around the office, travel, visitors, events or newcomers. I support the project management, controlling, HR, purchasing, management etc.
What has been your most exciting project at SYSKRON so far?
Exciting are always the tasks that come in at short notice and should be finished yesterday or bigger events like our summer party or customer visits; whether in the end everything really works as you imagine it.
Susanne is the first contact point for new employees at SYSKRON in the industrial park and gives them a briefing.
What does a typical working day look like?
I start by dealing with e-mail requests and try to give my day a structure, but the next minute it can be completely ruined.
What is the most exciting thing about your job?
See previous answer, the variety and the unpredictability.
What do you like most about it?
The free and independent work in my area and the trust that is given to me to bring tasks to their destination independently.
How do you spend your lunch break? Do you buy food or bring your own?
Always different, but I usually buy something. There is rarely anything left over from the previous day's dinner and I don't have time to prepare anything in the morning before work.
Your desk: Messi or Monk?
Part Messi, part Monk. Some things must always be within reach at their place, in between there is glass, cup and water bottle and lots of post-its with tasks I still want to do. But in the evening the desk has to be tidy!
Your most embarrassing situation at SYSKRON?
When I accidentally denied access to the project folders to everyone in the GmbH. It took half a day to get it working again.

not Early Bird
Who belongs to your team and how are the areas of responsibility distributed?
I'm sort of my own team. There is still the assistance of the Holding GmbH in Wackersdorf and we share some tasks, but also have different activities. My main area is the office in the industrial park in Regensburg and all employees of the SYSKRON GmbH and support points.
What items - apart from your work equipment - do you always take with you to work?
My handbag, everything I need is in it.
Night Owl or Early Bird?
More night owl.
And after work? What's your balance?
A two-man household! During the week there's little time for balancing. I always try to do some sports and read to relax, do small household chores and errands or help my partner in the garage. On weekends I prefer to go into the wood, armed with my Husqvarna 435 and my partner, wearing cut protection pants, helmet and safety shoes.
Would you recommend SYSKRON as an employer?
I would always start here. But everybody has to find out for himself.
Is there any downside?
Being a One-Woman-Show has its pros and cons.
What are you known for at SYSKRON?
Anyone can come to my office and ask me anything, I don't rip anyone's head off and I like to help. Some people say: "She hears everything!" Maybe it's because I can't see very well in return ;)
Which TV hero would you like to be?
I like strong and independent women with wit and irony, for example Olivia Benson from the crime series Special Victims Unit.
What did you always want to say on TV?
I don't have to be on TV.
What is your favorite joke?
If a piggy goes around the corner, it's gone.
If money was not an issue: What would you have done last weekend?
Fly or drive with my partner to the next Formula 1 race somewhere in the world!
